Add to cart

When Molin recommends products in the chat, product cards on a Shoprenter store show an add-to-cart button. Clicking it instantly adds 1 unit of the recommended product to the visitor’s cart, without leaving the conversation. This is enabled automatically on all Shoprenter stores connected through the official plugin, no configuration needed. The button only appears on products synced through the Shoprenter API, since adding to the cart requires the Shoprenter product ID.
  • The button shows a spinner while adding, then a checkmark on success or an error indicator if the item cannot be added (e.g. the product requires options to be chosen on the product page).
  • Each add to cart is tracked in your Molin analytics and pushed to Google Analytics as a standard GA4 add_to_cart ecommerce event.
  • If your theme has a cart drawer or cart count badge, you can refresh it by listening to the molin:add-to-cart JavaScript event.
